There are several different techniques used to connect, or wrap wire lengths together so they might keep their shapes for literally eons. Did you know that the oldest form of ‘cold connection’ with regard to jewelry making is wire-wrapping? The shapes and tempers of jewelry wire vary according to the material the wire is created of, thus the same techniques are more difficult to achieve with one temper and gauge of wire over another. Many wire jewelry instructions prefer students be able to make and wrap a bundle or plank of square half-hard wire, using square half-hard wire. Why? Discover the answer to this and other curiosities regarding precious and semi-precious jewelry making wire along with learning how to use only (4) four basic hand tools to create wire jewelry designs that could last until the end of time.
